Coming to a beach near you

Geoducks being replanted after harvest, Totten Inlet, 2006.  Private nearshore and Bush Callow nearshore habitats planted and harvested -- the same habitat as juvenile finfish foraging and bait fish spawning grounds.  After harvest, the entire ecosystem is destroyed.

Same area, oyster bags inforeground, net-covered geoduck tubes beyond, then netted clambeds gathering seaweed beyond all covering hundreds of feet of fish habitat. 2006

Just a sampling of the aquaculture debris that washes up to the inshore beach.  2006
